Panama north to Mexico. Strays are commonly found in southern Texas, where they are considered native.

Larvae feed on plants in the Ulmaceae family. Adults feed on a variety of flowers such as Lantana as well as decaying fruit.

The genus Adelpha is from the Greek for sister.
